However, moderates on both sides of the isle came to a compromise in which several appointments got votes. Furthermore, moderate republicans agreed not to eliminate the filibuster for judicial nominees while the moderate Democrats agreed to only support filibusters under extreme circumstances (unqualified nominees). The problem here is that we don\'t have very many moderates on either side, and thus everyone supports the Republican filibusters.
