Ephron once speculated that it was this habit that allows him to escape his turkeys unscathed, and even after his recent run of fizzlers – The Da Vinci Code and its miserable sequel, Larry Crowne (which he also directed), Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close, Cloud Atlas – his star remains utterly undimmed.
