I\'ll put her on g spark amazon Both have formal kitchen training. O’Gorman, who is from Auckland, went to cookery school before moving to Britain to become a chef. ‘I just wanted to travel,’ she says. Hoffler remembers cooking with her father as a child but studied marketing at university before doing work experience as a food stylist for Jamie Oliver. Having travelled and taken cookery courses in India she realised she wanted to create food and enrolled at Leiths School of Food and Wine. After graduating she became an in-house chef at the Hackney Picturehouse, where she met O’Gorman. They gradually cut down their days there and were both working full-time for Meringue Girls by May. They have set up their business without loans and now employ four part-time workers to help them bake. ‘We make enough money to live, but that’s it,’ O’Gorman says.
